Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for common issues: loading, citations, files, the concept tree, language and sync.

Troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common issues. If a problem persists after trying these, reformulate the query with more context — many "failures" are really underspecified questions.

The chat does not load or appears blank

Reload the page and check your connection. If the chat is still blank, reopen it from the sidebar — sessions are listed there and reload with their context intact. Make sure you are signed in with the account that owns the chat.

Citations are missing or take too long

Citations are resolved on demand, so a slow network shows up here first: retry opening the term and check your connectivity. If inline citations never appear at all, the answer may simply be short or factual — ask something more conceptual. If a term stays unanchored, reformulate with more context so it has something concrete to attach to.

A file fails to parse, or the answer ignores it

Wait for the attachment to finish processing (the send button stays disabled until then), then ask a question explicitly tied to the document — "according to the attached PDF, …". Remember PDF extraction covers up to 12 pages per file. If a document is stuck or errors, remove it and re-attach; you can send the message without it and attach later. For semester-long material, use the Space library instead of a single message.

The concept tree shows almost no nodes

The tree grows from substantive conversation. Give more context, name concrete concepts, and avoid one-word replies — greetings and trivial exchanges deliberately produce nothing. The concept tree works the same on every model (see Models): the lever is the conversation itself, not the model choice.

The interface or the replies are in the wrong language

The interface language is set in your account settings. In conversation, Lunar follows the language you write in — if a reply comes back in another language, write your next message in your preferred language and it re-aligns. This documentation has its own EN/ES selector.

Changes do not sync between devices

Chats, Spaces and files sync through your account. Confirm both devices use the same account, then reload the app on the one that looks stale. Anonymous (signed-out) usage does not sync — sign in to carry your work across devices.

The response arrives all at once instead of streaming

Usually a sign the query was heavy: deep analysis, Research mode, or multiple documents. Split the question into shorter steps; the streaming experience normalizes with lighter turns.

The main chat ignores what I discussed in a microchat

The chat selects relevant microchats automatically, but selection can miss. Attach the microchat explicitly to your message — attached microchats are always included.
