Lunar runs on leading AI models wrapped in the same pedagogical system. Every variant shares the same instructions and study tools — switching models changes how the conversation runs, not what Lunar can do for you.

Lunar Classic

The default. Deep, pedagogical and consistent: it is tuned for clear, structured explanations across broad topics. If you do not want to think about it, use Classic — it handles explanations, reviews and document questions reliably.

Lunar Creative

The long-context variant, with a context window of up to a million tokens. It shines when a conversation has to hold a lot of material at once: long documents, an entire semester of accumulated context in a Space, or comparisons across many sources. Its style is more flexible and creative — and the concept tree and every tool work exactly the same as in any other model.

Lunar Mister

A distinct persona for the main guide, useful when you want a different tone or teaching style. It runs the same contract as the other variants, so your history, tools and study layer keep working exactly the same.

[!TIP] A practical rule: start every Space with Lunar Classic, and switch to Lunar Creative when you prefer its more flexible, creative style or the conversation needs to hold a lot of material at once. The concept tree and the full tool set behave the same with every model — the choice is about style, not capability.

Availability notes

• Every model runs the same tools. The concept tree, web and image search, downloadable documents, diagrams, data charts, microchats and the rest of the tool set are available identically in Lunar Classic, Lunar Creative and Lunar Mister — no model is limited to a subset.
• Your learner profile follows you across models. The level, goals, language and preferences Lunar knows about you tune the explanations in every variant — switching models changes the voice, not what Lunar remembers about how you learn.
• Image understanding is built in. Lunar understands images natively, as an integrated part of the system — there is nothing to configure.
• You can switch models mid-conversation. Your history, Space context and study layer follow you; only the engine changes.
