Spaces & study
The Library
Your uploaded files in two scopes — global and per Space — with summaries that feed every relevant answer.
The Library
The Library is where your files live, and it comes in two scopes.
Global library
The global library holds your files across all your chats. It is the place to see everything you have uploaded to Lunar, independent of any particular Space or conversation.
Space library
Each Space (and subject) has its own library: files uploaded within that Space, with their own lifecycle and context. When you upload a file to a Space:
- Lunar extracts the text.
- It generates a lightweight summary of the document.
- The file is stored with its metadata.
From then on, every class in that Space can draw on the material — but Lunar brings in only the summary relevant to your current message, never the full document and never all documents of the subject at once. That is what keeps responses fast and focused even with a large library.
[!NOTE] For how attachments inside a single message are processed — including the extraction limits — see Files and analysis.
How to get the most out of it
- Upload your base material early. Syllabus, slides, textbook chapters: put them in the Space at the start of the period, and every later answer silently improves.
- Ask pointed questions. "According to chapter 3, how is X defined?" beats "what does my PDF say?" every time.
- Keep the Space library curated. Files live with their Space's lifecycle and context, so a file you no longer need does not keep polluting the subject.
[!TIP] Saved citations and the concepts extracted from your files also accumulate in your study material — the Library is one part of a bigger review system that spans anchors, the concept tree and your classes.
